David Fisher is pleased to be a major contributor to the Junior Achievement Scholarship Program. Since 1998, David has sponsored a minority student studying in a Houston college. In the upcoming months, Junior Achievement will have an article in the Houston Chronicle recognizing David's 20 year commitment to helping educate students in the Houston School District.

Since 1997 David has been an organizer/participant/corporate sponsor for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The relay is a 24 hour overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for ACS programs. Although teams are encouraged to have 8-10 team members, "Team Fish" has been a one man team usually completing the entire event. "Team Fish" is always a Relay for Life favorite and will be participating in upcoming ACS events.

David was published in the January 2000 issue of the Houston Business Journal. His article was entitled "Rules for Smart Investing in the New Millennium." Copies are available free of charge. David was recently interviewed by the Houston CBS affiliate, Channel 11, on their prime time Friday evening news. In addition to being a successful investment advisor representative, David has been a cancer survivor since 1993. Having run a marathon in Vancouver, B.C., four days before major cancer surgery, David was asked to give his insight to Lance Armstrong's incredible victory in the Tour de France.  David discussed the bond all cancer survivors have and the courage it takes to follow your dreams regardless of all circumstances. 

David was a featured speaker at the third annual Seminar for Advisors on Charitable Giving, held in Houston in May 1989. His speech was "Problem Solving Through Charitable Giving." In addition, Congressman Bill Archer, former chairman of the House Way and Means Committee was a featured speaker as well.

David was honored to have been a featured speaker at the 1987 National Business Leadership Conference. The conference was held in Indianapolis and was sponsored by Fortune Magazine. Other speakers included former Ambassador to Mexico, John Gavin and former head of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Peter Uberroth. David discussed the entreprenuerial spirit in a keynote address entitled "Turning Lightbulbs Into Hamburgers.
